Undergraduate Specialization in Entrepreneurship & Innovation

Find out how Entrepreneurship classes at Wharton can support you in a variety of career tracks.

Course Descriptions

At the Wharton School, Entrepreneurship & Innovation is one of four sub-fields of scholarship within the discipline of Management. All of the program's entrepreneurial management courses are offered through the Management Department. Course work and an academic focus in entrepreneurial management are offered at the Undergraduate, MBA and Ph.D. levels.

At the undergraduate level, Entrepreneurship & Innovation is offered as a specialization within Management and is intended to complement course work completed in a primary concentration by providing a diverse set of options for students to hone their entrepreneurial skills. Students must have completed all business fundamental courses at Wharton before beginning this course of study. Entrepreneurship & Innovation cannot be a student's only area of study at Wharton; students must have declared a primary concentration.

All students are required to take MGMT 230 (or MGMT 235 for students in the Jerome Fisher Program in Management & Technology). MGMT 230: Entrepreneurship, is the foundation entrepreneurial course in which students write a full business plan. Please note that other departments at Wharton (e.g., Marketing, Legal Studies, Operations and Information Management) also offer a number of courses that focus on entrepreneurial issues.
