MGMT 816 – Building Human Assets in Entrepreneurial Ventures
Bio:
Eric Newman has spent the past 16 years developing an expertise in starting and developing a human resources function in entrepreneurial companies. Understanding that the purpose and strategy of an effective human resources department is similar across industries, Eric has been able to demonstrate the immediate bottom line impact of effective Human Resource practices. Eric has developed award winning departments in a venture supported Information Technology Services organization, the Philadelphia Eagles, and currently as the Vice President of Human Resources for an investment advisory firm. Each of these firms had not had a human resources function prior to Eric's employment with them. Through recognizing the unique attributes of each organization, Eric was able to craft an effective department to meet their specific needs.
Eric received his undergraduate degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 1986. He received his M.S.Ed. from the Graduate School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania in 1992.
