Legal Clinic for Entrepreneurs

Wharton Entrepreneurial Programs, in association with the law firm of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP was pleased to present for entrepreneurial minded Penn students a one-hour clinic comprised of:

  • an introduction to the unique legal issues entrepreneurs face;
  • a "mock entrepreneur-lawyer meeting" to illustrate how a typical encounter might look;
  • a Q & A session between attending students and Morgan Lewis representatives.

Hosting the clinic was Stephen M. Goodman, partner in Morgan Lewis' Business Transactions Practice and co-chairman of the Firm's Global Technology Practice. Mr. Goodman was named by his peers for inclusion in Best Lawyers in America, a biennial publication. He has nurtured from startup such companies as CDnow, VerticalNet, ICG Commerce, United Messaging, and AirClic. Mr. Goodman is an alumnus of both the Wharton School and the University of Pennsylvania Law School and went on to serve as law clerk for U.S. Supreme Court Justice William J. Brennan Jr. and as a member of the Advisory Board to the Chairman of the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee.

In addition to the group session, one-on-one sessions were avaialble to students to discuss specific legal issues.
