Entrepreneur-in-Residence
Celebrating 10 years of successful student mentorship!
What is the EIR Program?
Since its inception in the Fall of 2001, Wharton Entrepreneurial Programs’ Entrepreneur-In-Residence program (EIR) has provided over 1700 Penn students with the unique opportunity to meet one-on-one with over 170 successful entrepreneurs. This one-of-a-kind mentoring program is a fabulous complement to classroom learning, a great benefit and resource for students, and a wonderful source of engagement for entrepreneurs.
Open to all students at the University of Pennsylvania, the EIR program provides tremendous opportunities for students to expand their network and get critical and immediate feedback on their ventures or entrepreneurial career goals and aspirations.
Once a week during the academic year, highly accomplished entrepreneur visits campus to meet one-on-one with students. The visiting entrepreneurs come from diverse fields and are chosen based on their success starting and managing successful enterprises.
The EIR program is open to all students at the University of Pennsylvania. Students must register in advance via the EIR website; registration opens two weeks before the EIR arrives on campus.
Students are expected to come prepared with questions, based on their ideas, opinions, and strategies for potential or actual business ventures and/or pursuing their entrepreneurial aspirations. Students are encouraged to choose to meet with entrepreneurs who are active in fields that capture the student's interest.
