About WEP

A message from the Academic Directors

Welcome to Wharton Entrepreneurial Programs (WEP), a global thought leader in entrepreneurship and the hub for an array of world-class initiatives focused on Knowledge Creation, Knowledge Dissemination and Global Outreach.

The Wharton School was among the first entrepreneurship centers in world (1973), and today its deep commitment to entrepreneurship spans a broad range of themes including:

  • Societal Wealth Creation
  • Technology Entrepreneurship
  • Venture Capital and Private Equity
  • International Competitiveness
  • Corporate Venturing

Each of these themes encompasses research, teaching, and outreach programs. Over 2,000 students participate annually in WEP's courses and programs including undergraduate and graduate entrepreneurship majors.

Wharton's tradition of entrepreneurial excellence goes back generations and includes such alumni as Robert B. Goergen, Brian & Ralph Roberts, Donald Trump, Jon M. Huntsman and J.D. Powers. We encourage you to visit our Web site regularly to learn about our new research, exciting entrepreneurial activities, and learning opportunities.
