In Spring 2006, WEP instituted the Wharton Entrepreneurial Intern Fellowship. The Fellowship is awarded to students who plan to spend the summer in an entrepreneurial setting and who demonstrate outstanding academic and extracurricular achievement, a commitment to entrepreneurship at Wharton, and a commitment to pursuing an entrepreneurial career.
Students awarded the Fellowship are expected, in the year following their internship, to serve as Ambassadors of Entrepreneurship. As Ambassadors, it is their responsibility to work with WEP staff to promote the entrepreneurial career path to the Wharton student community, and to assist in providing continuity for this program after the summer internships.
This year, as a result of the generosity of our alumni, WEP was able to award 18 fellowships, in the amount of $3,000 each.
