Opportunities for Entrepreneurship at Wharton: our Information Session for incoming MBAs
Find out how Entrepreneurship classes at Wharton can support you in a variety of career tracks.
At the Wharton School, entrepreneurship is one of four sub-fields of scholarship within the discipline of "management." All of the Program's entrepreneurial management courses are offered through the Management Department. Course work and degrees in entrepreneurial management are offered at the Undergraduate, MBA and Ph.D. levels.
The MBA major consists of five credit units, one that is a part of the first-year Management Core. All students are required to take MGMT 801, the foundation entrepreneurial course in which students write a full business plan. Many of the remaining Entrepreneurial Management courses that make up the major provide half-semester opportunities to focus on specific topics in entrepreneurship.
Please note that other departments at Wharton (e.g., Marketing, Legal Studies, Operations and Information Management) also offer a number of courses that focus on entrepreneurial issues.
