The home of research for Wharton Entrepreneurial Programs, the Sol C. Snider Entrepreneurial Research Center is the first center dedicated to the study of entrepreneurship. Working around the world to advance understanding of entrepreneurship and global wealth creation, Wharton researchers continually produce top quality studies of entrepreneurship. The Center's director is is also founding editor of the Journal of Business Venturing, the most influential publication in the field. Current research is focused on a range of topics such as large-scale job creation, productivity and international competitiveness.

In 1985 and again in 1997 Ed Snider made donations to Wharton Entrepreneurial Programs honoring his father, Sol C. Snider. This funding resulted in the creation of the Snider Entrepreneurial Research Center. Ed Snider is founder of Comcast-Spectacor, which manages and owns such internationally acclaimed sports, recreation and leisure powerhouses as the Philadelphia Flyers, the Philadelphia 76ers, and the sports complex in which they reside.
